I am worried because usually a 500 word essay has 4-5 paragraphs, but mine has only three long paragraphs including intro, 1 body paragraph, and conclusion. But I can't seem to find a way to divide those paragraphs into smaller ones. For example, I am describing a person in my introduction, and it turned out to be pretty long, but not repetitious or wordy, and I don't think I can shorten it or divide it into smaller paragraphs. I only have one main idea for body paragraph: how that person shaped my personality. I tried to break up the body paragraph, but since my intro is unusually long, I am not sure if it is ok to have shorter body paragraphs compared to my intro. Anyways, do you think a 500 word essay with only 3 paragraphs is ok as long as my points are made clear and it is well organized? Or should I try to write one more paragraph about how the person shaped my personality? |

Here is an example, using your own question: hello, I wrote a 500 word essay, and it only has three long paragraphs. I am worried because usually a 500 word essay has 4-5 paragraphs, but mine has only three long paragraphs including intro, 1 body paragraph, and conclusion. But I can't seem to find a way to divide those paragraphs into smaller ones. -New paragraph- For example, I am describing a person in my introduction, and it turned out to be pretty long, but not repetitious or wordy, and I don't think I can shorten it or divide it into smaller paragraphs. I only have one main idea for body paragraph: how that person shaped my personality. I tried to break up the body paragraph, but since my intro is unusually long, I am not sure if it is ok to have shorter body paragraphs compared to my intro. -New paragraph- Anyways, do you think a 500 word essay with only 3 paragraphs is ok as long as my points are made clear and it is well organized? Or should I try to write one more paragraph about how the person shaped my personality? Every time you list a new explanation of your problem ("For example,""Anyways,"), you start a new paragraph. For your essay, every few lines you probably list a different thing that you respect about that person. Break it up there. |
