My friends and I want to make some barbecue chicken because, well, about all we have in our kitchen is a bunch of chicken and barbecue sauce. Our oven has stopped working for some reason unbeknown to us, but we have pots and pans and a working stove! =) Can anyone help us out? Is it even possible to somehow cook barbecue chicken in a pot? I don't care about the presentation. We just want to eat. |

Cover the pot and cook until it boils for about 10 minutes ( probably 20 to 30 minutes at the most) drain off the water and cover the chicken with BBQ sauce and cook very very low heat for about 10-15 minutes. Make sure you stir every couple of minutes. Make sure you get a crock pot ( slow cooker ) and you won't have to worry about the stove. |

Then once it is no longer pink in the middle, cover it with your BBQ sauce. Usually when I make chicken this way though, I let it sit in BBQ sauce throughout the day to get a better flavor. If you have flour then you could coat the chicken with flour, and put butter on the bottom of your pot. Then you could brown your chicken on both sides, remove, and in a separate dish, pour barbecue sauce over your chicken while it is still hot. |

If not you will need to cut up the chicken, at a low to medium heat with some oil slow cook the chicken turning it over often... You will know the chicken is done inside when the meat if firm( you can't move the legs... When done heat the BBQ sauce and cover the chicken.. Remember if you can do the BBQ thing and you live in a cold climate cook it outside... |
