The day after that I turned on my car to see how long it would last, it worked.I drove my car to a car auto repair shop to make sure that the engine doesn't fail on me again, they told me the diagnosis and the problem with it, and told me that it would cost 400 bucks(I paid it), sadly while they were fixing my car they broke the engine even more and then said that it would cost 1,000 bucks to get it fixed, I am not a millionaire, I didn't have enough money for another tow truck or the fix because I already paid for the attempted fix so I had to take a cab to get home. And now I am typing this up without a car since it's still at the car repair shop, and they wont fix it until I pay them 1000 bucks, I think I should sue them, THIS IS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 my car is a 2004 toyota camry, this is the first time it has acted up! and at the same time , I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing lol |

I think they gave you an initial estimate of $400 of which you paid up front and when they got into it found more damage that brought the repair bill up to $1000. This is normal and happens quite often. You cannot sue them unless you can prove that they damaged your car. More importantly, after 60 days they can file a lien on your car and own it. They also have the right to charge you storage for every day that it is on their lot. You need to come to a resolution quick or else you will be in a real bad spot. They did not steal your car either. You voluntarily brought the car to them for repairs. |
