Snap-On is the company that invented sockets, and they continue to lead the way in developing new tools. Unsurpassed quality speaks for itself. "You get what you pay for."

Snapon and mac tools are both very good and kinda on the expensive side. I use mostly craftsman, but their rachets are junk. The old ones are good. I also like kobalt that lowes sells. I own some them to.

Hi,

Snap-On has been around for quite some time. Both Snap-On and Mac are on the pricey side but, you get a better quality from them, even over Craftsman. Snap-On is a better way to go.

Snap-On is a great brand. I also have Craftsman & Kobalt that have been serving me well.

Yes everyone has heard of snap-on but do any of you actually own a box full? I doubt it very much! Canadian Tire sells Maxim, lots of companies sell Grey, Proto, Challenger,S-K Wayne and probably lots of others. I have an SK set I got 35 years ago, and the only sockets different is the one I lost, and yes they have been on an impact a few times. I have a Proto 1/4 inch drive set, the plastic that holds the sockets is shot, but the tools are like new. We do most of our engine-repair work on the farm so the tools are not for show. I have a few snap-on tools mainly because they were the only source of some specialty tools. There is lots of competition now, check your local jobber for a catologue.
