Default What are some good activities for a high schooler?

I know a lot of people pick sports, golf, guitar, bowling, horseback riding, bike riding, Boy Scouts, play drums, find a youth group, video games, get a part time job, snowboard, ski, fish, hunt, sing, model, paintball...whatever, you name it.

What are good activities for a 17 year old guy in 11th grade to balance? Also, what is a pretty decent...
-cell phone
-job
-sport to play
-car (for teenager, not Bill Gates!)
-laptop

Am I asking for too much? Advice needed PLZ!!!!

Try studying. You can do all that other stuff but if you don't work hard in high school you may miss out on all the other opportunities that could come your way if you don't study.
P.S. don't forget to drink a lot of alcohol too.

Skateboard!! Cool people do it!! It's cheap fun.

I graduated last year. At Christmas of my senior year, my parents got me a Dodge Neon. It's a good car for a teen.

well, i do drama, work, and babysit. Other things to consider: try a new sport, book club, volenteer, tutor, sing at church. as far as the other things, the best cell fones are T mobile or verizon. if you r a big eater like me, dont work at a restaurant. good jobs are at a library, movie theatre, at the YMCA, caddy, or workingat a place like a grocery store. Car, toyotas make the best used cars. laptop, ur on ur own

I recommend a Dell Laptop (their tech support is cool! and they have a HUGE student discount). I would recommend that you volunteer for a community service organization for 20 hours a week, like Boys & Girls Club or Adult Literacy Campaign, instead of getting a job. If you need a job, apply in retail (NOT FAST FOOD!) As for a car, I recommend Saturn vehicles. They're the safest on the road, very affordable, and have nice stereos in them. For a sport I recommend martial arts or gymnastics (even for a guy!). Competition is very heavy in most sports, so pick one that you can actually get something out of! As for cellular service, I use Sprint and I love it.

Woodworking is an excellent way to channel creative urges. It is a shame that most people don't get involved with it until they reach retirement age. This can range from carving to turning to building projects.
One of the small pick up trucks is like a Chevy S-10 is an excellent choice of vehicle. While being reasonable on gas mileage this will usually get you one of the lowest insurance rates. You can also use it to earn a few extra dollars by moving items for people.

With limited cash you can't go wrong with fishing. It'll stay with you for the rest of you life. It's good quiet time.
