| Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Posts: 2 Rep Power: 0 | The new GM are they for real? ok for the last 15 years of my life every car i have owned has been smaller of smallish for a a lot of reasons 1. place to park 2.cost, 3.gas prices 4. i just prefer the ease of driving in a city. but the problem I have always had with buying smaller GM cars was well UGLY they all looked like jellybean's with steering wheels. and im tall and my legs do not fold like a card table. so i looked at honda mazda mostly toyota has never appealed to my eye. however i digress and return to my question how can GM honestly expect the broke stressed jaded been lied to enough american consumer to get excited about that all new GM smalled chevy line up it will be another chevy chevet all over again and after they get people to buy them the Quality will fail GM will want to pay big dividends to share holders and the all new GM will be again the old corner cutting jellybean's garbage of history past. so then question is just how stupid are the american auto consumers and do you believe that the NEW GM with deliver or once again will the bottom line and union influence help GM build another Chevy chevet for america to be proud of |

They weren't quite up to the level of the Japanese automakers, but with all the recent recalls Toyota and Honda have had to make, Chevy may have caught up. The problem as you note is that they have a deservedly bad reputation on product quality. But just because they have a bad history doesn't mean they can't get better. |

| Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Posts: 2 Rep Power: 0 | i agree that they are definitely going to have a hard time coming back, but i think they can do it. but seriously, i don't know how much it matters how good their cars are. those american cars sell in pretty high numbers. I dont think the american consumer knows squat about buying a car because i have never seen say... the older chevy impalas or malibu's get recognition as a good car, but people still bought tons of them. but i'm glad that gm is trying to improve their small cars. i like small cars too, and the more options the better. |
