| Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 1 Rep Power: 0 | Before you buy anything, check with your instructor and make sure you don't need a Nikon or Canon 35 mm SLR for your first few classes. It would be terible if you spend over $600 on a camera you cannon use for classes. If you need a 35 mm camera, you can buy a good used one for under $150 on craigslist. As you can see by this link, they are very similar when it comes to the most important factors, Colour depth, Dynamic range and Low-light ISO performance. You will have to hold both in your hands to see which one fits YOU the best. |

I would check with the professor on what type of camera you will need. If you are just taking a class to take a class I would not spend a lot of money on something you may not use a lot. |
