my friend suggests that i get a late 70's to 87 era chevy c/k pick-up. he says they are more reliable, strong, and tuffer than the 90's era chevy trucks. I was looking to get a 88-98 era chevy c/k pick-up because they are not to old but not to new(especially through 1988-1995 year range) and they look really cool and i think they are more reliable. I like the older chevy trucks to, but I feel they are not very reliable and they are more worse on gas then the 88-98 chevy trucks. I want to find a Chevy truck that fits my lifestyle which includes hunting, fishing, camping, and occational offroading (mudding not serious offroading) I want to get a truck that saves me money in gas and repairs(although I have enough money to spend for truck upgrades). So which era of truck is more stronger, more reliable, more tuffley built, and would fit my life style the best, the late 70-87 chevy trucks or the 88-98 chevy trucks??, please any help,info, pros and cons, or personal experiance would be much appriciated cause i dont want to make the wrong finacial decision.
